Chad Stutelberg
National Managing Director
Chad Stutelberg is a Managing Director with the Physician Compensation and Valuation service line of Gallagher's Human Resources & Compensation Consulting practice. He has been a healthcare consultant for more than twenty-five years. Prior to joining Gallagher, he worked for the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Minnesota.
Mr. Stutelberg's consulting experience lies in the areas of physician benchmarking, compensation, and operations. His extensive experience in the audit, design, and implementation of new physician income distribution models for physicians affiliated with integrated delivery systems, academic medical centers, stand-alone hospitals, and large physician group practices has helped clients better align their compensation systems, improve their financial performance, and increase their success in recruiting and retaining the best physicians.
Having conducted valuations of the contractual agreements between hospitals and physicians for more than twenty-five years, Mr. Stutelberg is able to assist his clients in ensuring the compensation they provide is within fair market value and commercially reasonable. Mr. Stutelberg has also worked with many clients in the development of appropriate policies, procedures, and governance structures to ensure the organization is consistent with the best practices around physician compensation compliance.
In addition, Mr. Stutelberg has assisted clients in the development of compensation strategies and performance-based compensation programs for physicians in administrative positions, including identifying appropriate benchmarks, measuring performance, and developing medical directorship and clinical co-management programs. In these projects he assists clients with the development of financial proformas and operational analyses that assist clients in improving the financial performance and clinical outcomes of a service line or clinical practice.
Mr. Stutelberg holds a Master of Arts in Industrial Relations from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota.
