The drivers of nuclear verdicts and what the insurance industry calls "social inflation" are well documented. From sympathetic jurors and rising levels of corporate mistrust to litigation funding and a well-organized plaintiffs' bar, the drivers of high jury awards are gathering pace.

In June 2024, Gallagher and RIMS jointly hosted a virtual roundtable, focused on how social inflation influences organization. Participants discussed tactics to mitigate these impacts, especially those related to auto liability. This report summarizes key themes and strategies roundtable participants discussed. We hope you find the information useful and that it helps build awareness of the issues at stake.
