Following our March 27 presentation, FEMA lifted the deadline of April 12. The deadline to apply has been extended by FEMA to 30 days immediately following the last date of the Federally Declared emergency.

Background on COVID-19 National Emergency Triggering FEMA Assistance
On March 13, 2020 the President declared a National Emergency related to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and triggered assistance under FEMA Public Assistance, Category “B” Emergency Protective Measures.
To be eligible, you must apply for FEMA assistance before the deadline of April 12, 2020.
- The official “recipient” of FEMA funding is YOUR state, territorial or tribal government. They are responsible for receiving the funding and distributing to approved “subrecipients” (your entity).
- Your contact at your state, territorial or tribal government is their Office of Homeland Security/emergency management agency in order to apply. They are responsible for receiving the funding and distributing to approved “subrecipients” (your entity).
- We suggest that your entity apply for benefits, even though your eligible expenses may not yet be known.
