The 2024 accounts highlight a strengthening of the IBNR (Incurred But Not Reported) provision, reflecting higher-than-expected costs related to mesothelioma and abuse claims. While overall claim numbers have shown a long-term decline, there has been a slight uptick in reported claims in 2023 and 2024, primarily attributed to these categories. Given the long latency of such claims, ongoing liability exposure remains a key concern.
