Gloucester Rugby’s Santi Carreras has been voted as January’s Gallagher Player of the Month, winning 52% of the public poll ahead of teammate Max Llewellyn and Harlequins back row duo James Chisholm and Jack Kenningham.
After 11 rounds of Gallagher Premiership Rugby, Carreras has helped the Cherry and Whites into an impressive third place in the table. The Argentine was the league’s top scorer over the two January rounds contributing 34 points, including a try against both Sale Sharks and Leicester Tigers and a near perfect 11/12 kicks at goal.
The 26-year-old showed all his international class in picking up the Gallagher Player of the Match award in both January rounds of Gallagher Premiership Rugby, as the West Country club picked up two crucial wins against their top four rivals to head into the Guinness Six Nations primed for a play-off push.
Samuel Brown, Marketing Executive at Gallagher, said: “It is brilliant to be awarding the Gallagher Player of the Month trophy to Santi. He has played fantastically in the season so far and has been an integral part of Gloucester’s success overall. I would like to congratulate Santi for his win, and I look forward to seeing him continuing to play well for the remainder of the season.”
The shortlist was voted for by a panel of media professionals.
