Insurance broker, risk management and consulting firm Gallagher has relocated to a new office in Edinburgh’s city centre as part of its commitment to supporting businesses in the area.

Gallagher’s roots in Edinburgh date back 27 years to 1997 and the firm provides insurance and risk management solutions, plus consulting services to businesses in the city and surrounding areas, where it has enjoyed strong business growth over recent years. A team of over 90 colleagues from Gallagher’s insurance broking, employee benefits and claims management divisions will come together in the prestigious, fully refurbished premises at Waverley Gate, Waterloo Place where clients of all sizes and from a range of industries will be supported. The new office will create a flexible and collaborative environment to ensure the best possible outcomes for employees and clients.

Gallagher’s Edinburgh presence has grown at pace year-on-year and the firm has plans to grow its employee base in the city over 2025. In addition to career opportunities for experienced individuals, the business offers a graduate programme which provides the next generation with training and career development. Roles range from client-facing sales, broking, technical consulting and administration.

This investment in larger premises underscores Gallagher's commitment to the business community in Edinburgh which is home to a range of thriving industries including tourism, retail, financial services and technology. However, businesses in the city are grappling with challenges including an uncertain economy, increased reliance on technology and rising crime rates1  meaning having the right professional advice has never been more important. Having multiple Gallagher divisions under one roof will enable businesses in the area to draw from a wide range of specialist knowledge on risk management, complex insurance requirements and claims, employee benefits and asset management.

As well as this regional hub in Edinburgh, Gallagher has further offices across Scotland including in Glasgow, Aberdeen, the Isle of Skye, Irvine and Portree and employs circa 750 people across the country.

Grant Casey, Managing Director of Gallagher's Edinburgh office, said: “This investment underlines our commitment to the city and to providing businesses in the region with on-the-ground risk management, insurance and consulting knowledge, coupled with local insight to help firms across the region and beyond protect and grow their businesses.

“The move will bring together our team capabilities and breadth of specialist knowledge for the benefit of our customers and we look forward to continuing to serve our clients with the highest level of professionalism and service from our new city centre office. We also see this as a massive commitment to our people who will enjoy the benefits of working in this prime location.”
