The continuation of the successful relationship will see an expansion of the JagTag Xtra Time programme into the Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland and Manchester.
Delivered in partnership with Gallagher, JagTag Xtra Time has engaged circa 380 young people, aged 9 – 17, across London since 2021. By offering weekly high-level performance training sessions, the programme takes players from JagTag 101, through JagTag and on to elite pathways. This enables young athletes to progress their American Football skills to a higher level, including the National Football League Academy, and potentially the Great Britain and Irish National Teams. Expanding the programme to community sites across new locations will broaden the reach of the programme and encourage more young people from dense urban areas to get involved in the sport. Overall this will help enable more coaches in the UK and Ireland to assist the transition of promising young talent.
Former students of the JagTag Xtra Time programme include Nickson Massa who has successfully enrolled into the NFL Academy, and was part of the NFL Academy squad that faced California’s De La Salle High School at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Tuesday October 8th.
Gallagher will collaborate with the Jaguars on creative content and will also become presenting partner of TealTalk the Jaguars Official UK and Ireland podcast, as part of its designated rights.
“Investing in the futures of young people so they can continue to grow and excel is part of being a community partner,” said Christopher Mead, Chief Marketing Officer, Gallagher. “We’re proud of the work we’ve done with the Jaguars in the United Kingdom and look forward to expanding our partnership with them.”
Maria Gigante, VP of UK Operations for the Jaguars, added:
“Gallagher has always been a fantastically supportive partner, and we are delighted that the relationship will continue with new, fresh objectives for our XtraTime programme. Being part of young athlete’s journey’s is something we are incredibly proud of and from grass roots to an elite level, the Jaguars continue to lead the way in growing the game of American football across the UK and Ireland, providing aspirational pathways for young people. This would not be possible without partners like Gallagher, and we are delighted that the relationship will continue and grow.”
