Gallagher has received a score of 100 on the Disability Equality Index (DEI) and has been recognised as a Best Place to Work for Disability Inclusion.

Now in its eighth year, the index is a global benchmarking tool that measures disability inclusion and equality in the workplace. As well as encouraging businesses to engage with the wider community, the index helps companies demonstrate their commitment to inclusion whilst identifying areas for improvement within the workplace.

At Gallagher we are committed to fostering a fair, respectful and inclusive culture where all team members feel empowered and supported to be themselves and achieve their career and lifestyle ambitions. We are working to ensure that inclusion it embedded throughout our business and that progress against any goals we set are measured.

At Gallagher, we have many colleagues who live with a disability and our disability workstream helps to promote the visibility of disability across our business and create a more open culture which enables all our colleagues to bring their authentic selves to the workplace.

We encourage data disclosure so that we can have a better understanding of who our colleagues are, so we can identify areas of improvement and where colleagues may need additional support. As a recognised Disability Confident employer, we have made our hiring process more inclusive by enabling prospective colleagues to request reasonable adjustments when applying for a role at Gallagher.

Charles Crawford, Chief Operating Office of Gallagher’s broking and underwriting business in the UK and Disability Workstream Sponsor, said: “This recognition from Disability:IN reflects our commitment to supporting colleagues across our business who live with a disability, as well as our drive to create more awareness and inclusion.

“At Gallagher, we actively encourage a corporate culture that promotes equity and inclusion through our policies, driving awareness and by celebrating issues that matter to our colleagues. Making our organisation more diverse is everyone's responsibility and we encourage all our colleagues to contribute to making Gallagher a more inclusive and equitable workplace.”
