Gallagher today announced the appointment of Jonathan Eaton in a senior US focused cargo role. As Executive Director he will be responsible for overseeing wholesale to other non-specialist brokers and working with Gallagher offices in the US to support cargo client retention and new business growth.

Jonathan brings over 30 years of experience and joins Gallagher from Howden where he was Managing Director of Cargo, a role he has held since 2020. Previous broking positions include Executive Director at RKH Specialty and he worked insurer side at XL Catlin, Aviva and AIG. He will join Gallagher in September and report to Peter Wilmot, Managing Director of Cargo.

Established in 1994, Gallagher’s London-based Specialty marine team employs over 80 risk professionals providing the global maritime and shipping sector with bespoke risk management solutions. The team has extensive experience in placing insurance programmes across all major marine insurance geographical hubs including London, Scandinavia, Continental Europe, the US and Singapore.
