Founded in 2009 by Pat Doyle and Colm Mahon, the firm provides personal lines, agricultural and commercial insurance services to clients across Ireland. Since being acquired by Gallagher last year, Doyle Mahon has benefitted from having greater access to a larger suite of insurance products, services, and expertise across Gallagher’s 43,000 strong workforce in 130 countries worldwide.
The team will relocate to Gallagher’s Irish headquarters in Drinagh, Wexford, taking its total employee headcount to 80 locally. Care and attention has been made throughout the rebranding process to ensure a smooth transition for clients and colleagues.
Doyle Mahon’s clients will continue to be supported with insurance and risk management services by the same team that know and understand their business, whilst benefitting from trading under the Gallagher brand, its vast network and rich industry knowledge.
Gallagher has been building a significant presence in Ireland since June 2022 when it acquired Innovu, followed by Doyle Mahon in November, and First Ireland in January of this year. As a result of this fast paced growth, Gallagher is now one of the largest insurance brokers in the country with a team of more than 275 people supporting clients across Ireland, from seven offices, with further growth expected during 2023 and beyond.
Whilst Gallagher is a global company, it has its roots in Ireland. The company was founded in Chicago in 1927 by Arthur J. Gallagher whose father emigrated from Limerick to the USA in the late 19th century. To this day, the company continues to be run by the Gallagher family, with Pat Gallagher currently Chairman, President and CEO.
