Regional rugby fans in the North, Midlands and South will all have a game to relish as the 2020-21 Gallagher Premiership campaign kicks off in just under two months’ time – with two Friday night clashes revealed today as the first fixtures on the opening weekend of our third season as proud title partner.

Harlequins will host Exeter Chiefs at the Twickenham Stoop in front of the live BT Sport cameras, on the evening of Friday 20 November, while Sale Sharks simultaneously entertain Northampton Saints up at the AJ Bell Stadium in the North-West. Our colleagues and fans up in the North-East will also have plenty to cheer about as newly-promoted Newcastle Falcons are welcomed back to the Gallagher Premiership on Saturday 21 November, when they travel South-West to take on Bath in the first of three matches that day.

Simon Matson, UK CEO of Broking and Underwriting at Gallagher, said:

“As we look ahead to the excitement of a new season of Gallagher Premiership Rugby with today’s reveal of first fixtures, it’s important we acknowledge the immense collaborative effort in our local communities up and down the country across clubs, coaches, players and management that has got us to this point.

“Risk management and risk mitigation may be part and parcel of playing rugby – and what we do every day in support of our business and individual customers as an insurance broker – but seeing it applied in such a multi-faceted and extensive way to enable the safe return of the professional game during the Covid-19 crisis has been hugely impressive.

“All that hard work, dedication and innovation have now combined to create a robust foundation for not only a compelling conclusion to the current season but also an exciting start to that of the 2020-21 campaign in November. And we look forward all the more to a time when stadiums can re-open safely so we can also give voice to our support through our local teams and their families, on the ground, pitch-side, in the communities we serve.”
