Can you tell us about your journey with Gallagher so far?
My journey with Gallagher began in 2012 when Bergvall Marine became a part of Gallagher. I have years of industry experience, including working for three different insurance providers. From the start, I was excited about the opportunities that awaited me at Bergvall Marine. The company seemed full of potential, and there was a lot of work to be done.
How was the transition from the insurer side to the broker side?
Moving to the broker side of insurance had its challenges, but my background in the marine sector and established client relationships made it smoother. Getting my head around the broker computer system and learning more about Protection and Indemnity Insurance (P&I) were definitely aspects of the job I had to learn quickly.
What do you enjoy most about your role at Gallagher?
I love working directly with clients and insurance companies on an international scale. The diversity of clients and the global reach of Gallagher make every day exciting and enriching.
How would you describe the company culture at Gallagher?
It is like being part of a close-knit family. We support each other and collaborate closely, and there is a strong sense of camaraderie. Everyone's valued and included.
What are some challenges you face in your day-to-day job?
Handling the influx of emails can be a little challenging at times. But it comes down to managing client interactions and ensuring everything runs smoothly. It can also be more hectic at certain times of the year, especially during busy periods like December and June. But there are quieter times when I can take a breather and recharge.
