To attract and retain the best-qualified employees, Schneider Electric strives to offer benefits and other rewards that are competitive, sustainable and demonstrate how the company cares for the needs of its diverse workforce.

Schneider Electric leads the digital transformation of energy management and automation globally. A $33 billion company with more than 135,000 employees in over 100 countries, it has 16,200 U.S.-based employees. Schneider Electric’s People Vision is straightforward: “Great people make Schneider Electric a great Company. We are empowered to do our best and innovate, while living our unique life and work.”

Schneider Electric asked us to help communicate three new programs during annual enrollment that gave employees New Ways of Working: PTO purchase program, Care@Work and voluntary part-time employment.

These new programs were designed to:

  • Let employees know they were heard.
  • Give employees greater flexibility and opportunities to balance work and life.
  • Help manage employer costs.
1 Challenge
Focus on flexibility and diversity of work-life needs

To engage and enable employees to take action, we took a marketing approach and spread messaging across multiple tactics and touchpoints – so employees would get the right information right when they needed it. The communications included virtual meetings, digital and print guides, articles on the intranet and Yammer postings.

Our key messages included:

  • You spoke. We listened. Some of the key things we heard you want is more flexibility and opportunities to balance work and personal lives and new services to meet the demands of caring for your loved ones.
  • Your feedback helped shape the many benefit enhancements we’ve made. We’re going beyond benefits with New Ways of Working — which is a set of flexible, innovative programs to help you balance your life and manage your time.
2 Solution
Focus on flexibility and diversity of work-life needs

More than 1,700 employees enrolled in the PTO purchase program. Enrollments in the New Ways of Working programs achieved more than $1.4 million in savings for the company.

The New Ways of Working page in the digital pieces had 3,482 unique page views during annual enrollment. Comments posted on Yammer included: “I'm very pleased by this benefit. It is one of the most well-thought-out and communicated benefits I have seen over my career in multiple companies. Well done and thank you!”

Your team helped us create a strategy and several communication pieces that outlined all of the new offerings in an easy-to-understand format.
