Caroline Long
Vice President, Compensation Practice
Caroline is a vice president and senior consultant at Gallagher. With more than 20 years of experience in total rewards and its specific programs, Caroline has had the opportunity to work within a wide breadth of industries and sectors.
Caroline joined Gallagher as an independent contractor, where in her previous role she had led the internal total rewards function for a large consulting firm. Before joining Gallagher, Caroline held a number of progressively responsible positions within public, private and nonprofit organizations, focusing on employee programs, communications and enhancing the overall employee experience with key programs and offerings.
Drawing from extensive experience in both private and public sectors, Caroline brings a candid, fresh and employee-focused approach to client projects. Her expertise covers alignment of strategy to objectives and deliverables; program creation and development; communication and training delivered across all organizational levels; and project and resource planning and processes.
Caroline brings a holistic view to clients for all projects from custom client surveys, job evaluation training, job evaluation support, job description creation, job description support, market analysis and creation of compensation structures.
During her career, Caroline has developed, implemented and provided training on a variety of job evaluation tools, worked closely with senior leaders in defining and articulating compensation and total reward philosophies and ultimately implementing programs that support both current and desired future state.
Caroline has worked with a wide range of public and broader public sector clients including Simcoe County District School Board, Town of Blind River, City of Winnipeg, City of Mississauga, City of Burlington, Health Quality Council of Alberta (HQCA), London Police Services, Toronto Police Services and Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA) to name a few.
Caroline studied at both Collège Boréal (social services) and McMaster University (sociology), and is a member of the GTA Rewards Association and WorldatWork.
