The CMA extended health care option covers a high percentage of eligible costs, and provides affordable health insurance for CMA members/employees and their dependents. The CMA Plan offers comprehensive prescription drug coverage, paramedical practitioner services, vision care, emergency travel insurance and covers medical equipment and supplies for members and their families.
Prescription Drug Plans
Prescription drug coverage is one of the most utilized components of any extended health care benefit.
The CMA benefits plan provides the convenience of a pay-direct Drug Card, providing employees and their dependents with immediate reimbursement.
Paramedical Practitioner Services
The CMA Benefits Plan also offers coverage for many paramedical practitioner services. These services are covered, at the usual and customary level of charges, up to a standard maximum per calendar year.
Vision Care
Vision Care is also part of the CMA Benefit Package. Benefits include coverage for eye exams, prescription glasses or contact lenses for plan members and each of their dependents.

Short Term Disability Insurance
For members under age 70, Short Term Disability (STD) provides a weekly benefit to replace the loss of income for employees who are on a short absence from work due to sickness. The benefit is paid as a percentage of weekly earnings to a maximum of 17 weeks.
Long Term Disability Insurance
Long Term Disability provides a monthly benefit for employees who are on an extended absence due to sickness. The benefit is paid as a percentage of monthly earnings.
For members under the age 65, Long Term Disability coverage can help provide financial security and allow an employee who is disabled to focus more on recovery and returning to work.
Life Insurance
The group life insurance program provides financial support to families of employees in the event of their death.
Accidental Death & Dismemberment
Provides coverage to employees who suffer a loss due to an accident. Benefits are based on a loss schedule or a lump sum payment to the beneficiary in the event of the employee’s accidental death.
Dependent Life Insurance
Provides coverage in the event of the death of a spouses or a dependent child.
Optional Life Insurance
Employees are able to top up their life insurance coverage by adding Optional Life insurance, allowing them to plan and meet their needs at an affordable cost.
