Gallagher today announced the acquisition of Torquay-based insurance brokerage National Insurance Group. In joining the Gallagher family, the business will use the Gallagher brand and be able to offer its clients access to a range of services and specialisms such as industry expertise, claims advocacy, placement capabilities and access to global markets.

Founded in 2015 by Chris Park, National Insurance Group operates out of Victoria and Tasmania. The Torquay office will be a new location within Gallagher's footprint of 30+ branches across Australia. The Tasmanian-based team will utilise the existing Gallagher branch in Launceston.

National Insurance Group has a broad range of clients, mostly Melbourne-based, including reception and function centres, manufacturing, engineering and electronics. The business has a strong record of growth on the back of excellent relationship building and a focus on client experience. The deal will open up Gallagher's geographic reach in Victoria's Surf Coast with significant opportunities to grow with local businesses in that region.
